1.5" A rare vintage permanent match pocket lighter with a pull-out striker wand.
How this Striker Lighter Mechanism Works:
The Body: The small rectangular container acts as the liquid fuel reservoir (filled with lighter fluid/petrol via a screw cap, usually located next to the wand slot).
The Wand (Striker): The brass rod screws into the side of the container. The tip features a small textile wick designed to absorb the fuel from the reservoir.
The Spark: Along the narrow edge or base of the shell container sits a grooved flint or steel strip. When the wand is pulled out and its metal tip is firmly scratched against this strip, it throws a spark that instantly ignites the fuel-soaked wick—functioning essentially like an "everlasting metal match."
This highly collectible pocket accessory features a beautiful Art Deco aesthetic, elevated by a premium mother-of-pearl or abalone shell inlay on the face.
